Part-time Fruit Packer (Seattle)
About the farm
Collins Family Orchards is a fourth generation family farm growing a variety of tree fruits in Selah, WA and servicing the greater Seattle area. We have an all-fruit CSA, Online Store, attend many Seattle area Farmers Markets, and supply local businesses with delicious fruit!
Who we are looking for
We are looking for dependable CSA Packers to pack our CSA shares and prepare them for delivery. A typical warehouse pack shift is 6-8 hours. You will be standing most of the time and periodically lifting 40lbs of fruit. Attention to detail is key for this position! We prefer employees who can commit to the summer and fall season (June - December) and both shifts on Monday and Tuesday.
Position Overview
Packing for Collins Family Orchards is fun and fast-paced. This is a great way to work in a stress-free environment and meet new people who share a love for sustainable agriculture and fresh produce. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently as well as in a team.
Available shifts:
Monday/Tuesday: 8am – 4pm (ending time can vary by about an hour or so) As our season progresses, there may be additional hours on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday for the right candidate.
Pay:
$18/hour + occasional employee shindigs + free fruit!
Location: This position is based out of our warehouse in Georgetown: 1622 S. Graham St. Seattle WA 98108
Job duties include:
· Building and stacking boxes
· Working on an assembly line to pack fruit into boxes
· Weighing and bagging fruit
· Organizing and storing boxes for delivery
· Conducting quality control
· Working in a team setting
Qualifications
Please note: This position is located in Seattle at our warehouse located near Georgetown. You must have reliable transportation to this area–there is bus line that reaches the neighborhood if you do not have a car or bike.

· Ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly

· Ability to work efficiently on a team and independently
· Familiar with a warehouse setting
· Flexible with scheduling and committed to working a seasonal position June – December
· Able to stand/work in your feet for six - eight hours
· Able to give and receive constructive criticism gracefully
· Able to respect coworkers of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and identities.
This position has a start day of Monday, June 28th with an orientation on Monday, June 21nd.
