Farmers Market Lead (Seattle)
Position Overview
The farmers market is a fun, fast-paced, community environment and the farmers market stand manager position will put you in close contact with hundreds of local shoppers who love organic food and produce, as well as the opportunity to interact with other local farmers.
Shift options:
Thursday: Afternoon (12pm-8:30pm)
Pay:
$21/hour with possible commission and a trade stipened
Job duties:
· Loading and driving a utility van
· Setting up the farmers market booth (must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 50lbs at a time)
· Training and managing one or two market helpers that will work alongside you
· Keeping the fruit stand stocked and looking beautiful
· Fulfilling orders for customers by bagging fruit, describing fruit, offering samples and keeping a positive and happy atmosphere
· Handling monetary transactions quickly in your head (there is math involved in this position!) and using your phone to run credit card transactions on Square
· Providing a friendly and amazing customer experience while problem solving on your feet
· Being knowledgeable about our products and growing practices and able to think on your feet or refer customers to the right person
· Standing and working on your feet for nine hours

Qualifications
Please note: This position is located in Seattle. As a lead, you will start your shift at our warehouse located in Georgetown. You must have reliable transportation to this area–there are various bike routes and multiple bus lines that reach the neighborhood if you do not have a car. This position requires a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Experience working in a fast-paced environment in the food industry
· Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly

· Willingness to work in inclement conditions
· Good problem solving skills and able to think on your feet
· Adaptability between working in a team setting and working independently
· Flexible with scheduling and committed to working a seasonal position May - October
· Able to give and receive constructive criticism gracefully
