Farmer's Market Helper (Greater Seattle Area)
Position Overview
The farmers market is a fun, fast-paced, community environment and the farmers market stand helper position will put you in close contact with hundreds of local shoppers who love organic food and produce, as well as the opportunity to interact with other local farmers. This is a seasonal position starting in May and running until October.

Job duties
· Meeting at the farmers market and helping set up the market booth (must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 50lbs at a time)
· Assisting the market lead and following directions
· Keeping the fruit stand stocked and looking beautiful
· Fulfilling orders for customers by bagging fruit, describing fruit, offering samples and keeping a positive and happy atmosphere
· Handling monetary transactions quickly in your head (there is math involved in this position!) and using your phone to run credit card transactions on Square
· Providing a friendly and amazing customer experience while thinking on your feet to answer questions
· Being knowledgeable about our products and growing practices
· Standing and working on your feet for nine hours in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications
Please note: This position is located in Seattle. You must have reliable transportation to the markets you are assigned, so please do not state interest in a market that is in a neighborhood you cannot easily get to. We do offer the option to meet our lead at our warehouse in Magnolia if you are interested in working at one of our our markets outside the city limits. Moreover, this position requires a valid WA-state food handler’s permit. We will reimburse the cost of your permit if you need to get one or update it upon hiring.

· Experience working in a fast-paced environment in the food industry
· Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly

· Willingness to work in inclement conditions
· Good problem solving skills and able to think on your feet
· Adaptability between working in a team setting and working independently
· Flexible with scheduling and committed to working a seasonal position May - October
· Able to give and receive constructive criticism gracefully
